Leaving Home...

The finality of our move to Melbourne..

The house is packed..

The cupboards are empty..
Much needed supplies were delivered...
and the truck arrived.Furniture was dismantled - (with a little help!)  the truck as loaded and off they went.

House packed - cars gone. See you in Melbourne.

Now it is time for me to get emotional. I am sure there (have already been) will be lots of tears as we get ready to leave next week. I know we aren't too far away, and that we are going on an amazing adventure.. but it sure as hell doesn't mean I am going to miss my friends and family any less.

Tonight we head off to the first of our 'Goodbye' gatherings... and we have one every day until we leave.

So many mixed emotions... excited for what is ahead.. but so sad for what we are leaving behind.

Poor Little Sick Girl...

It happens to all of us. Our kids get sick. Some sicker than others. I thank God every day that I have 3 healthy children. So when one of of your kids gets struck down - to the point of "I can't get out of bed Mum" you just want to click your fingers and make them better.
Kaiya wasn't well yesterday.. but then perked up in the afternoon and I thought she was all better. It is actually VERY common for Kaiya. She will run a fever for a day - then be fine. So when she awoke today with a fever again and said "I can't get out of bed Mum" my heart sank. My normally enthusiastic and spritely girl is looking pale and exhausted again.
So a big couch/bed day today for her. Thanks Aunty Mel for all of the great books for the iPad. She is having a great time with them!

Fingers crossed she is better tomorrow.. and that if you have a sick one out there.. they are better soon too.

Aaahh The Serenity.. A Road Trip {Margaret River Photography}

I had a fabulously refreshing and relaxing weekend in Margaret River. My fantastic husband stayed at home with the kids, while I hired a camera and headed south for some much needed soul rebuilding.

I couldn't leave without snapping a few at home first..

My favourite 4 legged boy... our (almost) 11 year old toy poodle - Chewbacca.

and one of my favourite 2 legged boys.. willing to get in front of the camera for a change - but cheeky as always!

and then it was time to head south.. to my 2nd home in Margaret River.. I spent the weekend doing as a tourist would do and just driving from location to location - not worrying about schedules (other than that of the sun) and relaxing..

A quick stop at Stella Bella Winery for supplies..

Then on to Redgate Beach. I love being at the beach. I find that it is rebuilding, refreshing, revitalising. The air - the salty water spray and the sound of the waves crashing as the sun slowly comes down on another day..

I will have more to share tomorrow.. I headed further south to Augusta which bought back alot of childhood memories. Can't wait to share.

Dressing Down..

Today Amelie was on a mission. A mission to dress up... and then dress down.

She is such a helpful little monkey - she even puts her clothes in the laundry.

Toddlers can teach us alot about life.. do what you feel.. don't think about whose watching.. just do it.. From eating & putting the mess all over your face because you enjoy it.. to running around screaming because its fun.. and heck I would LOVE to occasionally throw myself down on the ground and chuck a tantrum!!

I love having Amelie around the house to remind me that life shouldn't always be taken so seriously.

With Dad out late the kids and I decided it was time to change things a little on a Friday night.. so we headed out for a picnic..

Of course I took my camera.. even though the kids were not feeling overly co-operative.. I managed to get a few!

Wonder & Discovery..

These photos were taken several weeks ago while Cooper was playing Cricket. Looking through my photos before - they didn't really capture my attention. Second time around.. a different story.

At a very different point in my life, only 3 weeks ago.

For a long time I have been wondering where this journey is taking me... wondering if I am doing the right things. As Wife, a Mother a Business Owner... I think it is natural for us to feel this way... as women we are always wondering whether we are giving enough... too much..? It is such a fine line to walk.

Then... I took a leap. A leap of faith.. Partly inspired by a quote that Angie Warren placed on her Facebook page...

"Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be critisized anyway"

What am I waiting for? It is time to discover - discover what is on the other side, what the the next period in my life will bring. In my heart this is the right step to take. Now.

And my family and friends - I thankyou whole heartedly. Just for being you. Just for being there. Because without all of you... I would never have had the courage to discover.

We Went For A Walk..

Cooper was running ahead in his Bombers jumper... apparently he is doing some 'Pre-Season' Training..

Amelie was stumbling her way through the rocks and sticks - looking cute as ever..

Kaiya... well she was dressed appropriately for the walk, and always ready to strike a pose (esp when Mum has the camera)

And a gentle reminder to know your limits.. and stick to them.
